Trese: Metropolis new heroine

I stumbled on this comic book yesterday as I'm making my way to see if there is any new issue of Kiko Machine at Pandayan Bookstore. This very cool black and white cover captured my eyes and I read the back for the story. It was somekind of a mystery comic. And because of my mere curiosity, I bought the two volumes. Trese: Murder on Balete Drive consists of 4 cases and Trese: Unreported Murders consists of 5 cases. Just this morning, I finish the two volumes, and what can I say, it was preety good. The graphic style of the comic book was really amazing (Thanks to Mr. Kajo Baldisimo). The black and white color really adds up to the atmosphere of the story. And the story of the each of the cases were really interesting (Kudos to Mr. Budj Tan). It's like watching supernatural blended with a little dash of CSI, comic book form. And the characters were really interesting, from Alexandra Trese, to the Kambal (these guys are awesome), to the creatures that made up our own Pinoy Mytho. All in all, there are 8 cases, and according to the foreword of the book, it is intentioned to have 13 series and have a longer plot. So I think, the 13 series will have a long way to go. Maybe Trese would even make it to as a graphic novel.

Right now, I'm looking forward to cases 9-13, which is not yet released. (I'm going to e-mail Mr. Tan and ask him on when they will release Trese 3) I am recommending Trese to all comic book lovers. Surely, you will love this one. And one last thing, this is made by a Filipino.
